AIIMS MBBS entrance result 2018: Procedure, Counselling, Seats & Important Dates

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) declared the results for its Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) entrance exam today on 18th  June 2018. A total of 7,617 candidates, including 2,705 females, have qualified the AIIMS-MBBS 2018 entrance examination. Out of which 2649 candidates have been qualified for the first round of centralized counselling. Out of a total of 4,52,931 eligible candidates, 3,74,520 candidates appeared in the examination. The entrance examination was conducted on May 26 and May 27. All 3 toppers of this year are girls, Eliza Bansal, Ramneek Kaur Mahal and Mehak Arora each with 100 percentile. The cut-off percentile was 98.83 percent for the general category, 97.01 percent for OBC (NCL) and 93.65 percent for SC/ST category. 2018 JEE Advanced Results & Scores

The result of JEE Advanced examination has been released on Sunday, June 10. Pranav Goyal from Punchkula secured first rank in the JEE Advanced by scoring 337 marks out of 360. Sahil Jain from Kota and Kalash Gupta from New Delhi grab the second and third rank, respectively. Meenal Parakh from Kota bagged first rank among the female candidates. This year, the JEE was conducted by IIT Kanpur. The number of candidates who cleared the test this year is the lowest in last seven years. Out of the 1.55 lakh aspirants who appeared for the JEE, 18,138 students cleared the exam. In 2017, more than 51,000 students had cleared the examination. So it is said that some seats of IIT will remain vacant. But the experts from IIT-Kanpur said that it is due to error-free question paper. so there are no grace marks for students this year. That's why the result is low. They also said that there will be no problem of vacant seats. Last year, though 51,000 candidates passed this exam,

291 more seats for IITs, JEE Advanced results out on 10 June

IITs have seen an increase of 291 seats, compared to last year. The admission schedule was launched by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2018 (josaa.nic.in). A total of 11,279 seats will be available across IITs. Supernumerary seats will be created to accommodate foreign candidates along with defence service candidates (maximum two DS candidates per IIT) who qualify JEE (Advanced) 2018. This year, 800 supernumerary seats have been created for female candidates in IITs to improve gender balance. The seats cannot exceed 10%. JEE (Advanced) 2018 results will be announced on June 10, and on June 15, candidates can register and fill choices for academic programmes. On June 19, mock seat allocation will take place based on choices filled in by candidates. On June 24, mock seat allocation 2 will be displayed. The results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for MBBS admissions for 2018 announced on 04th June showed even lower cut-offs than last year. The cut-off for the unreserved category is down from 131 out of 720 marks last year to 119 this year, while the one for the reserved categories has dropped by a similar margin from 107 to 96. Over 7 lakh students from the 13 lakh plus who appeared for the exam have qualified to join medical college. A lower eligibility cut-off for NEET would mean that students with even lower percentage of marks will be eligible to get admission for MBBS. In case you thought just being eligible would not allow those with poor scores to get admission, here’s what happened last year. Over 4,300 students who scored 180 or less in NEET actually got admission to MBBS. The overwhelming majority of them in private colleges, where high fees make it difficult for those with meagre means to join even if they have the marks. A score of 180 out of 720
