The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today declared the Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE Main) Paper I Result 2018 with Ranks on its official website. The results for Paper II will be released tomorrow (May 1, 2018). The JEE Main 2018 result is now live online. JEE Main 2018 Answer Key, OMR Sheets released

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2018 provisional answer keys and candidate response sheets are released on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, on the official website of JEE Main Examination - jeemain.nic.in. As per the schedule available on the official website, the answer keys are released today. The students who have appeared in the pen and paper, as well as the candidates who have appeared in the online examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) can login to check the answer keys and the response sheets online on the official website. The students can raise an objection on the answer keys or raise requests for a wrong capture of the responses against the OMR sheets. CBSE to compensate class 10 students for typo error in English paper

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to provide compensation of two marks to Class X students for a typing error in the English question paper. Several teachers and students had approached the Board with the plea that the paper held on March 12 had certain errors in the comprehension passage section. Students had to read a passage and write synonyms for the words endurance, obstruction, and motivation. But the paragraphs they were supposed to look at were incorrectly marked, they had said in an online petition. "The typing error has been noticed and it has been Board's policy to not let students face any disadvantage. The marking scheme has been decided in interest of students and all those who appeared for the particular question will be awarded two marks," a senior CBSE official said. NEET exam: CBSE issues dress code

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come out with the dress code for students taking the upcoming NEET exam. While issuing the admit cards for the National Eligibility-cum Entrance Test (NEET) for students willing to pursue MBBS and BDS at medical colleges, the board has advised candidates to come in “light-coloured halfsleeves dress” and “not to wear shoes”. Reiterating the dress code it announced in 2017, the board has added that the candidates will have to report at the exam centre an hour earlier in case they choose to wear their “customary dress”. The CBSE had attracted a lot of criticism last year when students were forced to remove their head scarves to gain entry into the exam halls, leading to protests. According to the dress code, the candidates will have to wear “light clothes with half sleeves, not having big buttons, brooch/badge, flower etc. with salwar/ trouser,” and “slippers, sandals with low heels and not the shoes,” to the exam centre. The Central Board of Secondary Education will declare the score and rank of Paper-I of JEE (Main) - 2018 for all candidates on or before April 30, 2018. The IIT-JEE Main 2018 result will be declared on the official result portal: results.nic.in The Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2018 score shall comprise the actual marks obtained in Paper-I along with the status of those who qualify for appearing in JEE (Advanced) - 2018 provided and subject to other conditions of eligibility being met. The rank shall comprise All India rank and All India category rank. Before declaring the results, the CBSE will release the official answer keys. CBSE says JEE questions are all original

Reacting to a report in this paper about alleged similarities between the JEE (Main) 2018 question paper and a mock test conducted by a coaching class in 2016, the CBSE has underlined the robust and fool-proof systems it has in place to put together question sets and conduct the nationwide entrance exam for engineering aspirants. The central board said the 7-8 questions, which were alleged to be similar to the ones in the mock test, were originally written only two to three months back and could not have figured in a model paper from any coaching institution two years back. The board said the originality of the questions has been “doubly ascertained.” The JEE question papers were prepared by over 100 subject experts, the CBSE said. “They prepare over 1,500 items over a period of two months during the year of the exam. IIT JEE Main 2018: 10.5 lakh students appeared for the examination

Around 10.43 lakh aspirants in 112 cities in India and abroad appeared for the Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (Main) exam that was successfully organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education on Sunday. The offline exam was held in 104 cities across 1,613 centres across the country and in eight centres in as many countries abroad. "The sixth edition of JEE (Main) 2018 offline exam was held for approximately 10,43,739 candidates registered for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IITs and other centrally funded technical institutes etc," the CBSE said in a release. JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced). The examination was organised for 6,46,814 boys, 2,66,745 girls and three transgenders, it said. JEE questions identical to 2016 test in coaching class?

Students who took the national Joint Entrance Exam (Main) on Sunday for admission to India's top engineering colleges have complained that a section of questions appear to be exactly similar to those asked in a mock test conducted by a coaching class chain in 2016. At least nine objective questions in physics from Set C in the JEE were the same as those in the mock test held by a Hyderabad-headquartered coaching class, with even the values in the problems being similar, they said. IIT Delhi students bag 102 offers, average salary of Rs 16.5 lakh per year

The Department of Management Studies of IIT Delhi has completed its final placements for the 2016-18 batch with an average salary of Rs 16.54 lakh per year. This year, the institute received 56 recruiters- the highest it has seen, claimed a release issued by the institute. A total of 102 offers were made to 91 students. Of the total students in the batch, around 25% were offered pre-placement offers (PPOs). The number of first-time recruits stood at 29 this year. Among the recruiters were Deloitte, Amazon, Shell, Google, GE, Accenture Strategy, Rockwell Automation, Maersk Line, Shell and KPMG, among others. Sales and marketing roles accounted for the highest number of profiles at 30%, followed by IT & consulting at 29% and finance and general management at 21%. CBSE has decided against holding re-examination of Class X mathematics paper after conducting an evaluation of the answer sheets. An order announcing the decision regarding the same is likely to be issued today. CBSE had announced that it will hold re-test of Class 12 Economic paper on April 25, but had refrained from declaring a date for Class 10 students on the grounds that it is waiting to assess the impact of the alleged leak. The HRD Ministry had said that a final decision on the re-examination for Delhi-NCR and Haryana would be taken in the next 15 days following a detailed inquiry. There are roughly 14 lakh students who had appeared for Class 10 maths examination.
