Preparing for JEE Advanced? Avoid these Common Mistakes

Ignoring the NCERT Books
The NCERT Books are the best books to prepare for the JEE Advanced. The students must not ignore the NCERT Books while preparing for the JEE Advanced. Many of the students do this common mistake.

Calculation Mistakes
It is difficult to believe but most JEE aspirants do not arrive at the correct answer in the estimated time because they make silly calculation mistakes such as doing addition or subtraction incorrectly. You may want to do such calculations on paper. Practice more and more previous year papers and sample papers for JEE Advanced to avoid such errors.

Do not waste too much time in the part of syllabus that has less weightage
Concentrate more on the topics that you know will be asked more in the exam because if you do these topics properly, you will surely get a minimum good mark in paper. Give full justice to theory of all subjects because most of the questions in JEE Advanced will have a twist that you can handle only when you are aware of the theory of that topic.

Working Hard rather than Smart
The students preparing for the JEE Advanced know what to prepare. But they should also need to know how to prepare? This is the most important thing and most of the students do the mistake of preparing the out of syllabus topics.

Revising the well-prepared topics again and again
Every student is good at something. Some are good at Mathematics, some at Physics / Chemistry. But it does not mean that you only prepare what you know well. You should also focus on what you are weak at.

Remove the mentality that the more you study, more you get marks/rank
It is a common perception of people that your performance depends on “how many hours you study par day”. It is absolutely INCORRECT. Actually, if you study less hours but your study is more productive and focused then you are in a better condition.
