JEE Main April 2019 exam: Last minute tips and tricks

The second phase of JEE Main 2019 is just two weeks away and for a change, the students who are appearing for this examination would have already appeared in the 1st phase in January 2019. They would now be relieved of their board exams and can completely focus on the JEE.

Here are some last minute preparation tips and tricks for students to get high rank.

Make your strength stronger:
• This is not the time for the candidates to study any new area or the area that they are weak at.
• Concentrate on subjects and chapters you are confident about
• Try to do maximum questions from these chapters and make it stronger
• The idea should be that you should not lose marks especially on the medium or easy questions from this chapter
• They should revise on Class 11 topics first as Class 12 topics, they would be better equipped after their boards.

Solving mocks
Many suggest that you should use this time to solve mocks every day, but solve one mock every three days and more than solving it is important to analyse the concepts where you went wrong and not making the same mistakes again.

After each chapter revision, the candidate could concentrate on questions from that chapter which has been in previous year JEE Main papers. While solving the mock, make sure that you take it as seriously as the actual JEE Main exam and solve it in the given time. Download Free JEE Main 2019 April Sample Papers

Balancing subjects
What should I concentrate more out of the three subjects?
This is a repeated question which students ask every. Since the exam is equally divided between the three subjects, and the idea is to score maximum marks, concentrate on your favourite subject in the exam and try to improve your score. Remember, the candidate’s mantra should be to score more.

Do not discuss
Do not discuss your preparation strategy with your peers during this time. Each one would have a different strategy and don’t get swayed by others’ strategy.

Make your own and stick to it. Discussing your preparation with others would make you lose your self-confidence. Remember your mock scores do not matter, what matters is the final score of JEE Main, which is just another day.

Sleep well and relax
Do not forget to sleep well during this period; take healthy food (avoid packed or outside food) – you don’t need any sickness during this period and relax.

Don’t study long hours, take small breaks, don’t worry about time table going awry; just relax and start afresh. They should study overall for at least 12-15 hours per day.

All the best!!
